Cat Mountain String Quartet

The Cat Mountain Quartet was formed in 2010 by violinists Melissa Ruof and Catherine van Zanten, violist Judy Trejo and cellist, Craig Casper.  The focus of the group is to delve deeply into the standard literature for string quartet and to perform in house concerts and other venues as we feel ready to share our work.  In addition, we are happy to perform for events which support the work of the community.

ACO Brass Quintet

Composed of two trumpets, two trombones and a french horn, this brass quintet can play at almost any event.  Composed of ACO trumpeters Chris Heldt and Andrew Harms, plus friends, the group performs all types of music, ranging from jazz and pop tunes to standard brass quintet repertoire.  Most recently, the group represented ACO a Holiday Concert at 3M.

Hill Country Winds

Hill Country Winds is an ensemble comprised of 4 pairs of winds instruments:  oboes, bassoons, clarinets, and French Horns. Formed in 2006 when a group of eight Austin area musicians informally gathered to make music together, the group now regularly rehearses to prepare for performances. The ensemble's concert activities include performing at the Georgetown Public Library, for the Georgetown Symphony Society, Texas Community Music Festival and several retirement centers around the area.  We are a  diverse group - two band directors, a grant writer for a non-profit, a private music teacher, an ophthalmologist, a surgeon, a business analyst and software tester -- all of whom have a life long dedication to performing beautiful music.  Members are Andy Ross and Meredith Morrow on oboe, Carolyn Ahrens and Karen Kachelmeier on clarient, Andrea Camacho and Amy Crandell on bassoon, and Leslie Poer and Mike Lacour on horn.

Quintessentials Woodwind Quintet

The Quintessentials Quintet is a group of non-professional musicians who are members of the Austin Symphonic Band and the Austin Civic Orchestra. Coming from different walks of life, from sales executive to music teacher to software tester to retiree, they share a common bond in their love for music. The Quintessentials have performed in schools, nursing homes, company functions, and charitable benefit concerts.  Their repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary, always played with a sense of fun and a serious respect for quality music making. Members are Beth Behning, flute, Fred Behning, oboe, Nancy North, clarinet,  Amy Crandell, bassoon, and Jo Oliver, horn.
