Volunteer
The Austin Civic Orchestra has grown tremendously over the last four decades, and community support is a big part of what makes our concerts and programs possible. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to get involved, we offer a variety of volunteer opportunities that directly support our mission of bringing orchestral music to Austin.
Volunteers help with essential tasks such as soliciting donations, selling advertising, assisting with ticket and merchandise sales at concerts, and preparing for receptions and special events. Every role contributes to creating welcoming, high‑quality musical experiences for our audiences.
If you’d like to lend your time and talents, we’d love to hear from you. Email us at info@austincivicorchestra.org or call at 523-200-2261 to get started.

The Austin Civic Orchestra has grown over the past 40 years into one of the largest civic orchestras in the country — a testament to the passion and support of our community. Because of you, classical music remains accessible and welcoming to Central Texas. Our commitment to keeping ticket prices low ensures that anyone can experience the joy and inspiration of live orchestral music.
Individual and corporate donations play a vital role in sustaining this work. Your generosity helps us present high‑quality performances, reach new audiences, and continue enriching Austin through music.

Compete

Amster Chamber Music Program
The annual Amster Chamber Music Program provides young musicians, eighteen years of age or less, from Austin and the surrounding area the opportunity to make music in a chamber ensemble and with the ACO. Competition prizes include college scholarships and the opportunity to perform at Austin Civic Orchestra concerts in the spring.
Composition Competition
The ACO believes in the cultivation of new music and giving up-and-coming composers the opportunity to have their music performed. Every two years, composers from around the world submit their compositions for the opportunity to have their piece performed by the ACO in one of their regular concerts and the cash prize of $1,000.
This contest is on hold until after the pandemic has passed. Please stay tuned for news of our next contest.
